Designing a project for strengthening consumer protection in India
|

Project summary:
The aim of the contract was to assess the feasibility of a project for strengthening consumer protection in India and to discuss the concept note submitted by the Department of Consumer Affairs in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution regarding a project proposal for funding by the German government. The main areas of the project were:
consumer empowerment and awareness raising;
increased institutional capacity;
strengthening system of redress (system of consumer courts).
